Abstract

Reports that the first of 100 Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) officers have arrived in Haiti to help pave the way for the return of ousted president Jean-Bertrand Aristide on October 30, 1993. They are part of a UN peacekeeping force which are expected to reform the Haitian army and help create a civilian police force to replace the current security apparatus.
