National Information Utilities.

The article discusses the recommendation of the Technology Advisory Group for Unique Projects (TAGUP) of what it called National Information Utilities (NIU) to handle all aspects of IT systems for complex projects in India. It states that the project is headed by Nandan Nilekani, chairman, Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). It also mentions that the project aims on taking advantage of expertise of private sector in the execution of projects while holding control by government.
