AMERICAN FINANCE ASSOCIATION Report of the Representative to the National Bureau of Economic Research.

The article presents a report of the representative to the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER). NBER sponsors the study of a wide range of economic issues, by both individual researchers and special projects groups. During 1997 NBER published 442 working papers, 7 books, and 2 journals. Other endeavors supported by NBER include programs on a variety of topics from aging to public economics, a summer institute, and visiting fellows from other institutions. In 1997 David Laibson of Harvard University arrived as an Aging Felllow.
