Abstract
- The article discusses the U.S. stock market as of December 24, 1979. Particular attention is paid to tax selling, which is purposefully registering short-term losses in order to reduce capital gains tax. The author suggests several blue chip stocks, Treasury bonds, and tax-exempt bonds for tax selling. The author recommends investing in chemical companies Allied Chemical, Du Pont, and Monsanto.
