Abstract

The article reports that the market research firm ABI Research Inc. has predicted that location-based sensor fusion technology for smartphones can be used for mobile advertising and retail and there will be one billion smartphones with location-based sensor fusion by 2016. It informs that retailers can offer coupons to shoppers based on their location in shopping malls by using location-based services. It mentions that the indoor location market will reach 4 billion U.S. dollars in 2018.
