Abstract

The article examines the economic impact of an announcement by China's Communist Party it would ease the country's population policy limiting families to one child. The possible impact of a reduced imbalance between the numbers of men and women in China due to increased births on housing prices is discussed. The likelihood that an increased number of children will increase consumption in China is examined.
