Robert Wilson’sWalking(2012), a London 2012 commission for the Norfolk and Norwich Festival, invited audiences to undertake a three-and-a-half hour aestheticised walk across a nature reserve. Framed as a retreat from everyday life, the piece required its walkers to perform movement of great slowness.
