Abstract

The article discusses the decision of the U.S. Family Policy Compliance Office (FPCO) not to investigate a complaint filed a minor student's mother who claimed that a teacher disclosed the student's education records without consent. The FPCO clarifies that they need certain basic information in a complaint like the date of the improper disclosure and evidence or statements from witnesses to initiate an investigation. The mother's claimed was under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act.
