Abstract

The article presents a research that studies the syntheses and characterization of binary selenium azide compounds. It discusses methodologies used in the research including selenium-based nuclear magnetic resonance (Se NMR) spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, and density functional analysis. It concludes that neutral binary selenium azide is thermally unstable and explosive, while its anions with large inert counter ions are more manageable.
