Abstract

The article focuses on the apoptosis in Caenorhabditis elegans (C. Elegans). It says that apoptosis is C. elegans is a common component of growth which starts in the activation of EGL-1 protein in the cells. It mentions that the apoptosis pathway can contribute to immunity or can lead to cancer. It relates several studies which show the unique interplay between apoptosis, inflammation, and cancer reflecting its role to protect the organism from various environmental insults.
