Abstract

The wind generator system is a large inertia system, so the use of the PI controller in pitch control will lead to the system instability. The theory of variable pitch wind turbines is analyzed in this paper. The mathematical model of the aerodynamic part, the drive part, the operative part and the whole unit are established. An algorithm is proposed to allow the generator to track the maximum power points of the wind turbine system by PD controller. The proposed algorithm is verified by simulation re-sult, and good control results are achieved. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
