Abstract
- The article reports on the state of the U.S. machinery manufacturers as of January 1954 and offers outlook for the sector for the coming year. The sensitivity of the group to economic swings is highlighted. The production spree that followed the Korean war was over. To buck the economic cycle, diversification is suggested. A lathe-level view of labor relations is presented.
