Abstract

The article offers an analysis of the stock market and the inflation and federal deficit caused by the mild letdown in business. U.S. Treasury Secretary Humphrey forecast that there is a deficit of 8 to 9 billion dollars for the 1954-55 fiscal year. The article discusses the renewed discussion on inflation and pessimistic budget prediction that belittles the effect of inflation and focuses on the business recession and the deflationary effect of individual and corporate earnings.
