Abstract
- The article discusses Brazilian chef Alex Atala as of October 2013, focusing on several of Atala's adventures involving poisonous ants, monsoons, and Slovenian bear hunters. Atala's two-hour trek through a jungle to tour the pepper fields of a group of female farmers is addressed, along with his restaurant D.O.M. in São Paulo, Brazil which is reportedly considered to be one of the top 50 restaurants in the world. The Baniwa people, jungles, and food sources in the Amazon River are examined.
