Abstract: In the article, the author discusses operational developments at the Bureau of Economic Geology as of early 2012. She focuses on her work as research scientist associate and GIS analyst at the bureau, where she collects and analyze both surface and subsurface datasets on energy production. She also trains and assists other members of the bureau, as well as graduate students in using GIS software and metadata practices at the State of Texas Advanced Resources Recovery (STARR) group.
