The author recommends measures for improving investigations of substance abuse interventions for lesbian, gay and bisexual (LGB) individuals who abuse substances. She also argues on the need for clinical training in LGB cultural sensitivity to improve treatment. She encourages researchers to determine common ingredients of care which are part of substance abuse interventions. She also notes that identifying clinically significant benefits of interventions would provide additional support.
