Abstract: The article offers news briefs on U.S. politics as of March 1950. Many Republicans who were beaten by the Fair Deal upset in November 1948, including Forrest Harness of Indiana, are going to try again in fall 1950. James Shera Montgomery, chaplain emeritus of the House of Representatives, cited Herbert Hoover as the greatest influence for good during his ministry on Capital Hill. Except for Social Security, none of the Fair Deal recommendations will be followed by the U.S. Congress.
