Abstract
- The article focuses on the unfair ocean freight rate problem being encountered by shippers in the U.S. in 1926. It cites the impact of excessive competition on the shipping business and discusses how the decrease in competition and stabilization of rates improve its services. It attributes the problem to the intense nationalistic spirit of shipping and suggests for the nation to consider the British methods to insure fair treatment to the shipowner's investment and the shipper's trade.
