Abstract
- The article features industrial chemist Frank J. Sowa whose achievements included invaluable contributions to U.S.'s war effort and whose work ranges from improvements in the manufacturing technique of brake linings to development of food products related to dehydration. Some of his contributions include the development of the first successful tobacco film resembling a leaf made out of tobacco and a process for making cloth antiseptic with lasting bacteriostatic and fungistatic qualities.
