Abstract
- The article discusses a report published in "Science" by researcher Andrew Ludlow and team on the development of a precise atomic clock using energy state transitions of ytterbium atoms cooled by various colors of lasers. The device could be used to define the second at an extremely small scale or detect time dilations which suggest violations of the law of general relativity.
