Abstract

The article focuses on the Singing Revolution, a term coined by activist Heinz Valk for events from 1987-1991 that led to the restoration of the independence of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. It informs that the term has completed 25 years in 2013 and it has been adapted by Baltic states. It also mentions the Song of Estonia festival, the Tartu Heritage Days event and the Tartu Pop Music Days event.
