Abstract

Considerable amount of analytic work has been done for the case where the enterprise has got one warehouse, but little work has been done for the case where an enterprise has got more than one warehouse. In the present paper, we consider a situation where the enterprises have got two warehouses. In the proposed model, the demand rate is taken as a time and stock dependent. Shortages are allowed and partial backlogged and the backlogging rate is variable and is dependent on the length of the waiting time for the next replenishment. The longer the waiting time is the smaller the backlogging rate would be. Effect of inflation on the model also considered. A numerical example with sensitivity analysis is given to validate the results of the proposed model. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
