Abstract
- A novel lanthanide–organic coordination polymer incorporating both nitrogen hetrocyclic dicarboxylate and oxalate coligand, namely {[Pr2(Hpimda)2(μ4-C2O4)·2H2O]·2H2O}n, (H3pimda = 2-(Pyridin-4-yl)-1H-4,5-imidazole-dicarboxylic acid), has been fabricated successfully and characterized systematically. The polymer features 3D framework structure consisting of oxalate pillared praseodymium -Hpimda2–layers with intersected channels, occupied by coordinated and lattice waters, among which the 1D zig-zag chains are constructed from binuclear (Pr-Hpimda)2units bridged by oxalate, acting as the secondary building unit. The polymer exhibits strong photoluminescence in visible region under ultraviolet excitation using 305 nm radiations in the solid state. The bulk purity analysis and variable-temperature magnetic susceptibility of polymer 1 were also studied. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
