Abstract

A novel coordination polymer, namely {[Co3(HEIDC)2(4,4′-bipy)3]·2NO3·6H2O}n(1), has been hydrothermally successfully synthesized by the reaction of 2-ethyl-1H-imidazole-4,5-dicarboxylic acid (H3EIDC) with Co(NO3)2·6H2O in the presence of 4,4′-bipyridine (4,4′-bipy). The single-crystal structural study reveals that 1 is a 3D metal-organic framework, which can be viewed as made up of [Co3(HEIDC)2(4,4′-bipy)3]nunits, nitrate anions and solvent water molecules.
