Abstract

The article discusses developments in the operation of cigarette firm R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. as of early September 1964. It claims that the company posted a 5% drop in sales in the first half of the year to 768 million dollars compared to the same period in 1963, the first time for the firm to register a decline since 1954. The opinions of company chairman Bowman Gray and president Alexander Galloway on their operation are also cited.
