Abstract

The article presents an interview with assistant general counsel member Heather Foster of the clothing and accessories manufacturing firm Fossil as of May 2013. Foster discusses various topics including product counterfeiting prevention efforts, nontraditional trademarks, and cease and desist notices. The roles of intellectual property attorneys are examined, along with Fossil's brand strategy, generic top-level domains (gTLDs), and Chinese trademarks.
