The article discusses the history of wallpaper-bound books published by 19th century Mobile, Alabama, book printer Sigmund Heinrich (S.H.) Goetzel. According to the article, Goetzel utilized wallpaper scraps to bind or print several of his books that were issued during the U.S. Civil War. The article discusses Goetzel's background, his publication of author Madame Octavia LeVert, and the prevalence of wallpaper-bound books published during the U.S. Civil War. The article mentions several books including "Wheeler's Cavalry Tactics," "Chaudron's Spelling Book," and "Souvenirs of Travel."
