Abstract
- Nine two-span continuous beams incorporating a stub column load were tested. The primary variable was the column load, the only other variable being tie spacing. It is demonstrated that not only the column load but also the presence of a column has a significant influence on the post-yield behavior of the beam support section. The validity of tests on simply supported experimental models is dis-puted and some of the practical implications of using strain-hardening reinforcement are discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
