Studies changes in understorey vegetation and fine root quantity following thinning of 30-year Pinus radiata in Central North Island, New Zealand. Tree ferns that dominated the understorey vegetation; Distribution of fine roots in the unthinned and thinned stands; Equality between fine root weight of Pinus radiata and understorey in the unthinned stand.
