Abstract: The article discusses political and economic conditions in Pakistan as of July 2013 and presents an outlook for 2013 to 2017. The substantial victory won by the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) in the May 2013 national election is mentioned. The role of the U.S. as an important source of civil and military aid is addressed. Forecasts concerning economic growth, fiscal and monetary policy, exchange rates, and inflation are also explored.
