The article looks at the capital challenges faced by the biotechnology industry in Canada that puts its future health at risk. According to the fifth annual forecast of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC) of the Canadian life sciences industry, the field experiences shortage of capital needed to fund research, product development, and business growth. It is estimated that the field needs more than $1 billion of capital and the support of the government to stimulate capital formation.
