Abstract
- The purpose of this article is to present theoretical and experimental researches for optimizing the vacuum casting (VC) process. Due to the phenomenon's that occur during the entire technology, investment casting (IC) proves to be a difficult process to model and analyze. Metal vacuum casting compared to other casting technologies, is considered to be one of the most precise casting processes, regarding the shape and dimensions of the cast parts. Determining the wax pattern dimensions is the first and most important in the investment casting process; it is critical for obtaining metal cast parts with accurate dimensions. To obtain accurate parts it is necessary to increase the dimensions of the master model by adjusting the nominal casting dimensions by the shrinkage factor and also adjusting the feeding system according to the part geometry.
