Abstract
- The article discusses the expansion of the automobility and social change in urban areas of Great Britain between 1955 and 1970. It examines what the author calls the motor revolution in Great Britain during the 1950s, particularly the development of urban motorways and the sharp increase in the number of motor vehicles in Great Britain, and the expansion of automobile ownership. The article discusses the impact of automobiles on social mobility, the political significance of the expansion of automobility, and the socioeconomic aspects of car ownership.
