Abstract
- The article examines the ways by which one sub-category of road cinema in France, the return road movie, opens the door to a reading of contemporary identity as a concept of the geographic boundaries of the country. It provides a detailed understanding on how these films use mobility to demonstrate that it is conceivable to be French and retain a connection to another identity. It also identifies 20 films that make up the return road movie corpus.
