Abstract

The article discusses the first data gathered on the neoproterozoic granitoid magmatism found in Siberian craton's Sayan marginal uplift, a large structural element that spreads in the northwesterly direction from Lake Baikal to the basin of the Agul and Tumanshet rivers. It notes that the uplift's structures include the Buryusa and Sharyzhalgai superterranes that are connected to the Uriksko-Tumanshet collisional zone that contains widely abundant postcollision granitoid magmatism. It presents an exception by orphyry granodiorite of the Chernoziminskii Complex intruding coarse-clastic terrigenous rocks of the Ermosokhinskaya Suite that are deposited in the rift depression.
