Abstract

The article discusses the economic developments in the U.S., particularly on the area of customs and border protection. It cites the importance of international trade in the economic security of the country. It claims that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) agency, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is mainly responsible in ensuring the smooth flow of trade through U.S. port of entry (POE).
