Abstract

The article discusses the U.S. Supreme Court case Mayo Collaborative Services v. Prometheus Laboratories Inc. where the Court rejected patents for a method of treating autoimmune disease. It informs that the Court argued that Prometheus objection related to patent for intense effects in the fields of diagnostics and personalized medicine. It further mentions other cases in the same context including Roy Zwahlen, Mayo v. Prometheus and Molecular Pathology v. U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.
