Abstract
- The article focuses on cohort analysis performed to understand the association between bleeding and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) and subsequent association with increased morbidity and health care costs. Post procedural bleeding is associated with nonfatal myocardial infraction, blood transfusion and stroke. The study was conducted on CathPCI registry performed in the U.S. between 2004 - 2011. The results obtained showed that in-hospitality mortality rate increased with increase in number of post procedural bleeding events in PCI-registered patients.
