Abstract
- The article reports on results of a survey of executives in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. The study aims to determine how executives perceive the value of the benefits they receive as compared to how the companies providing those benefits perceive them. The author provides a brief profile of the respondents. Medical insurance is the highest in the ranking of benefits valued by respondents. Least important was an executive dining room, a health club and personal legal counseling. Executives estimate that the total annual value of the company-provided benefits they received was the equivalent of 27.2 percent of their salary. The author also discusses respondents' desired benefits, retirement expectations and disability income. The author recommends further analysis of the findings by professional planners to be able to identify cost efficient areas where their client firms can enhance their benefits programs.
