Abstract

The article focuses on the value of educational technology in improving student learning. It comments on Professor Emeritus Tom Reeves' conclusion that the impact of technology on improving learning outcomes was very modest at most and cited three literature reviews to defend his perspective. It talks about the role of educational technologists in promoting technology adoption and comments on how information and communication technologies make new demands on students. It mentions the benefit of computer-based technologies in overcoming physical barriers such as distance education or constitute the curriculum content such as with information literacy.
