Abstract

Before the start of chemotherapy, cancer patients and their families can benefit from being given positive information in a way that prepares them for treatment and supports them while treatment takes place. This preparation has traditionally been carried out on a one-to-one basis with a nurse trained in chemotherapy. At one cancer centre, a new approach to providing information on chemotherapy and support in group sessions is improving patient experience and outcomes. These group sessions benefit patients and nurses. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
