The article discusses the empirical implementation and the estimation methodology to assess the role of trade in determining export quality. It states that the demand function has been estimated by using European Commission's COMEXT database which contains statistics regarding European foreign trade. It states that the aim of the method was to assess the relationship between Chinese export quality and global production networks.
