Abstract
- The article discusses the issues that the information technology (IT) hoped to be addressed by the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) budget in India. It mentions that the sector hopes that tax breaks, transfer pricing guidelines,and clearance on backlog of service tax refund will be addressed in the budget. It notes that the industry calls for tax break to invest in research and development (R&D). It also mentions the need of the sector to increase its spending on higher education.
