The author discusses the health effects in non-smoking workers of occupational second hand smoke (SHS) exposure in hospitality venues and the effects of non-smoking regulations. SHS has been pointed out as an important public health threat with many adverse health effects. It has been linked with increased risk of adverse cardiovascular health outcome, lung cancer, different respiratory symptoms and deterioration in pulmonary function.
