Abstract

The article reports that motorists are demanding action due to rise in bans for poor eyesight. In 2011, about 5,285 car and motorcycle licences were revoked due to poor eyesight. A driver need to be able to read a car registration plate from 20 metres away. The British Government has said that it will not introduce mandatory eye examinations for drivers.
