Abstract

Information about the topics discussed at the Fifteenth International Congress of the Gesellschaft für Musikforschung held on September 7, 2012 is presented. Indranil Roy presented the research entitled "Children of Artifice: Colonialism, Enlightenment, Reason and the Genesis of Urban Bengali Music(s)" and Jittapim Yamprai presented the paper entitled "Musical Interactions of the Franco-Siamese Relation." The event aimed at what extent enlightenment ideals influenced European music.
