- The article discusses the history and popularity of musical films as of 2013, with a focus on the 2012 film adaptation of the stage musical "Les Misérables," (also known as "Les Miz") starring Anne Hathaway and Hugh Jackman, based on the original novel by Victor Hugo about revolutionaries in Paris, France. Predictions for more adaptations of stage musicals are examined, with comments by "Les Miz" producer Eric Fellner.
