Abstract

The article examines the clinical findings associated with failure of therapeutic use of cefixime medications to control Neisseria gonorrhea infections in Toronto, Ontario. The study conducted reports that increase in minimum inhibitory concentration of antimicrobial agent cefixime is required to control the bacterial infections. It mentions that the nucleic acid amplification test for detection of accurate level of antibiotics required to control infection is not able to provide with susceptibility results. The alternative treatment approach through antimicrobial agent cephalosporin for treatment of bacterial infections is also discussed.
