Abstract: The article presents a summary of the proposed revisions to U.S. federal laws concerning cybersecurity. It says that no major cybersecurity law has been enforced since 2002. According to the author, the complex federal role in cybersecurity involves assisting in defending nonfederal systems and security federal systems. The areas focused on by the recent legislative proposals on cybersecurity law are also discussed.
