Abstract

This article reports that the installation of pressurized hydrostatic ways on a computer numerical control grinder improve its accuracy and flexibility. The Swiss-based company Kellenberger mentions that such installation can be costly to machine builders but the resulting benefit justifies the expense. Hydrostatic ways are also mentioned as being offered by Kellenberger, a part of the Hardinge Group, as standard feature on the X and Z axes of its Kel-Varia universal grinders and other models.
